The articles in A.r.s Week in Review are brief summaries of the articles. Many include an excerpt, and all include message IDs for the articles I cover. This may or may not be useful to you, depending on how long your site stores articles in the newsgroup before expiring them.
Clams
Pope Charles posted excerpts from History of Man this week. I knew about
the clams, but I never realized how scientifically unsound the whole thing
is. Imagine, exploding clams. :-)
"The spore was like a barnacle. When the clam was cast ashore, these spores were still alive in the shell. The sun would kill the inner cells of the "barnacle" while the outer cells still lived. The dead inner cells would forma gas which, under the heat, would explode violently to the agony of the barnacle shell cells."

"This ground work plus our connection to the Echavarria family has opened the door for us. Our purpose is to fill that vacuum created, claiming as much ground as quickly as possible through the introduction of LRH technology to the government, military, police, education and business personnel."
"The Military trained on LRH tech enabling them to achieve the result of a country without insanity (the real enemy), without criminals (Mafia, Druglords) and without war (guerrillas and terrorists), where the able can prosper and honest being can have rights, and where man is free to rise to greater heights which are the aims of Scientology. To make this goal and target real for the officers and soldiers of the Military."
"Since the original report we have started delivery of the BSM to 12,000 high school students, which is in progress at this time. We are delivering to the Military enmasse and to the Police. Many great results have been obtained and further delivery is being planned by these agencies. We have 7 other High Schools, 42 elementary schools, and an entire State's educational system in the country wanting LRH's educational tech. We are also consulting the biggest businesses in the Country as a means of financing the social reform efforts."

"Such as 2 hit-and-run accidents while my employees were making deliveries, strange behavior of cancelling contracts suddenly by one of my customers who had So$ as their big customer, and others."
Dennis also reported that the cos sent a PI, J.J. Gaw to his landlord on a dirt-finding mission. Is he registered in California?
In other harassment news:
"Today I was served with papers tacking on 6% per month to the $40,000+ that I allegedly owe my ex-wife in back child support, interest and attorney fees."
"Additionally I was subpoena'd for a deposition in that case where I have to turn over all my financial records, inventory of assets, income tax returns, bank records, debts, living expenses, etc., since 1992."

FACTnet Archives
A letter from Steve Fishman was posted from the FACTnet archives. It
reveals a lot about the dirty tricks of the cos.
"In 1988 I was sent to Madrid to take some Corporate Resolutions for the TAIM Charity which was a front for funneling money from Narconon to Author Services, Inc."
"...which involved the filing of mocked-up, false claims to participate in securities class action lawsuit settlements of which we were false plaintiffs, or in other words, we did not own the stocks in the first place but we opted to share in the settlement fund."
"I was additionally told that Xenu had re-surfaced as Wollersheim and that it was my hat to "handle" him, and I understand now that many other pawns were told this, with the hope on the part of the Executive Council of International Management that one of us "with good confront" would permanently off-load him (or kill him, in plain English)."

Also from FACTnet, a heart-rending story of Molly Hutchinson, age 11, who describes her family's experiences in the cos.
"The courses cost a lot of money, and once you finish one course, the people at the Mission persuade you into another course which costs more money. Then they persuade you into getting some auditing which costs even more money. This goes on and on, and on, until you are almost entirely brainwashed, and broke. And that is the perfect definition of Scientology. I know from experience."

Gary Reibert reported being harassed by the cos. This, despite posting only a few times. He was followed by a blue Chevy while running errands, he received a very strange call from a market research company, which told him "...not participating is not an option.", and somebody called in a report of a gas leak at his house.
This is really strange. Dennis, Grady, Jeff, Gary Reibert. Which of these is not like the others? My only guess is that somebody from his town recognized Gary's name and wanted to make points.

Clearwater Seminar
Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater held a seminar on Mormons, Jehovah's
Witnesses and Scientologists recently. The seminar was announced as being
run by Craig Branch of CAN.
"'They don't care about Clearwater,' Scientology spokesman Richard Haworth said of CAN. The 'Rev. (Bill) Anderson (pastor of Calvary Baptist) is not in control. He is being manipulated ... (by people) who will stir up a bunch of stuff and leave all of us with the upset.'"
"The enmity between Scientology and CAN is deep-seated. CAN is "a national group of perverts and criminals that prey on members of churches," Haworth said. CAN leaders have accused Scientology of being a dangerous cult."
"Members of the other churches singled out for the seminar say they aren't concerned about it."
