The Holy Trinity

Fröbel used the figure three frequently. First of all the figure three point at the Holy Trinity: The Father, The Son and the Holy spirit. Fröbel called his second Gift, a wooden ball, cylinder and cube, "Family of the original creation" and it could symbolize the Holy Family, that is the father (light), the mother (love) and the child (life). These three "original creations" are mirrored in the earthly family as light, love and life, but also as Life (God) in Nature, als Love is in Mankind and as Light in Wisdom. This is the Creator, Life, Love and Light. All those elements you can find in "Mutter- und Koselieder". Fröbel also speaks about the three primary colours, red, blue and yellow, nature's own colours. Mixed, those colours make a rainbow, with Fröbel a symbol of the family and in art also of the Virgin Mary, Another triad Fröbel used freqently was "past times, present times and future". All those triads each and together make a Unity.
